There are days that become memorable for no particular reason. This was one of them.

I have learned to carry a small notebook, though most days it stays in my pocket. Paying attention is often enough. A place becomes clearer when there is no pressure to explain it immediately.

These are a few observations from that day: gestures, fragments of conversation, and the way the light changed before everyone went home.

“The quiet parts of a day are often the ones that return later.”

A little after four

Nothing important happened. That is partly why I wanted to remember it.
